One of the most impressive peaks of the White Mountains
The climb to the top of Gigilos follows one of the most beautiful paths in Crete. Sometimes there are no words to describe the beauty of nature. On this uphill trail, you are amazed by the landscape and the silence is what describes the awe you feel. It’s like a breathtaking movie where the director leaves you speechless.
Climbing up from the plateau of Omalos, we have a view from above of the Samaria gorge on one side and an imposing stone massif in front of us. A difficult uphill climb remains to admire the gorge of Tripiti and the South Cretan Sea. After some scrambling, we reach the top. A tough hike, but when it’s over you just want to do it again!
