Crete, the largest island in Greece, is known for its long summers and its beautiful nature with high mountains and imposing gorges that make it a paradise for outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing, etc.

Lefka Ori Mts
Chania | Crete | Greece

Lefka Ori of Crete, which means “White Mountains”, covers a big part of the prefecture of Chania. Something like 30 km from East to West and up to 25 km from North to South.
The name White Mountains doesn’t only come from the snow covering them during the winter but also the light-colored limestone making them a landmark for the rest of the year.

50 peaks over 2000m.

More than 30 gorges

The uniqueness of the area is complemented by the impressive gorges.

In this place, the inhabitants have always connected directly with the mountains. From ancient times to the rebels of World War II, from the shepherds to the mountaineers of today, the White Mountains have always been alive. The relationship between man and nature is the cultural heritage of this place.
